Today was truly a bad day for little Polino. From the moment he woke up, nothing seemed to go right. He tried to play near his mother, but accidentally stepped on her food. That tiny mistake made his mother very angry. Without warning, she slapped him several times, and poor Polino didn’t understand why. His little face turned sad, his eyes filled with tears, and his cries echoed softly through the trees.
The other monkeys nearby watched quietly. Some looked shocked, others simply turned away. Polino tried to hide behind a tree, holding his tiny arms around his chest, feeling frightened and hurt. His mother sat apart, still angry, breathing heavily. Maybe she had a tough day too — tired, hungry, and stressed — but poor Polino didn’t know that. He only knew the pain in his heart.
After a while, his crying grew weaker. He sat alone, staring at the ground, waiting for his mother to calm down. Slowly, she turned to look at him. Her expression softened. She reached out her hand, gently touching his back. Polino looked up, still teary, but he moved closer. The two hugged quietly.
Even though the day was filled with anger and tears, the bond between mother and child remained strong. Sometimes love hurts, but forgiveness makes it whole again.
