Mother monkey Libby seems to have a very unusual way of teaching her little son Leo. While most monkey moms hold their babies close, Libby keeps pushing Leo into the pool! At first, it looks a little harsh — Leo screams and tries to climb back up, shivering and frightened. But Libby doesn’t seem to stop. She gently pushes him again, as if saying, “You must learn, my boy.”
At first, poor Leo can’t understand why his mother is doing this. The water feels cold, and every splash makes him panic. His tiny hands reach for the edge, but Libby keeps encouraging him in her own tough way. Slowly, Leo begins to realize that his mother isn’t being cruel — she’s teaching him how to be strong and brave.
After a few tries, something amazing happens. Leo starts paddling! He learns how to balance his little body and keep his head above water. The fear on his face turns into curiosity, and then, joy. Libby watches proudly from the side, ready to help if anything goes wrong.
